Help! My Second Hard Drive is Missing: A Frustrating Storage Mystery
So I used to get a lot of crashes, bsod's and issues with my computer, so I decided to take the plunge and reset it. Reinstalling Windows was a real pain in the ass, but it seemed to have solved most of my problems. My PC now boots fine, runs smoothly, and I rarely encounter any issues. However, there's one little hiccup - my computer has two built-in hard drives: a 500GB one and a 2TB one. The other day, I had this sudden realization that my memory was almost full. I was puzzled because I used to have way more files before the reset. After some digging, I discovered that one of my drives isn't showing up at all. Panic set in, and I went into full-on troubleshooting mode. I scoured through device manager, disk management, and even checked the BIOS, as every online guide suggested. I ran cmd and PowerShell scans, thinking maybe there was a hidden issue. But no matter what I tried, my PC refused to acknowledge the existence of this elusive drive. I even went as far as to unplug, blow out the dust, and reconnect everything. I thought maybe changing the SATA port would do the trick - but no luck. At this point, I'm completely out of ideas and desperate to regain my missing storage space. Although I have backups of everything in the cloud, I still rely on local storage for games and other applications. Losing access to that extra storage is beyond frustrating. If anyone out there has experienced a similar situation or has any advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I can't help but wonder if there's a simple fix that I'm overlooking. In the meantime, I'll continue my quest to solve this storage mystery and get my precious storage space back!
