Dealing with the WHEA Uncorrectable Error: A Troubleshooting Journey
I'll include a TL;DR at the end as this will be a lot but to preface this: I recently got spare parts from a friend and integrated them into my system but I started running into issues. I'll explain. My friend sent me a motherboard, processor, and RAM. I have a tower, a GPU, a power supply, and an SSD. OS: Windows Pro 10 Mobo: X299 AORUS Gaming 9 Processor: Intel Core i7-7820X CPU, 3600 MHz, 8 Cores RAM: G. Skill 8GB DDR4-3200 x8 (I know) GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB PSU: Corsair 1000 Watt SSD: ADATA SU800 Through no discernable reason that I can find, I keep crashing with a blue screen that has the error code: WHEA Uncorrectable Error. I've gone through every website, YouTube tutorial, and friend I can find to solve these crashes, and so far, we haven't had any luck. I had two old HDDs connected, but I assumed they might be a problem, so I removed them. I reset my PC and deleted everything, leaving a completely fresh version of Windows on my SSD. I checked for Windows updates, reseated and inspected all hardware to the best of my abilities, and made sure my drivers were up to date. As this is a fresh Windows installation, I have no restore point. I used CHKDSK and found no errors. I used MemTest86 and found no errors. I cannot find any overclocking settings in my BIOS and I had never had it turned on to begin with. Currently, I've taken out all but two RAM sticks, and I'm going in pairs to check if they are recognized by the system and then testing to see if I keep crashing. So far, I am still crashing about every twenty minutes with sometimes longer or shorter times. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide. I can be reached at *midoki* on Discord, and I'm in the Orlando area if anyone knows a good repair shop because I'm at wit's end. TL;DR: I keep crashing with an error code WHEA Uncorrectable Error, and although I've done a lot to try and identify the problem, I cannot find it and continue to crash at random intervals.
